Cooking meatballs in a crock pot? You bet with this easy recipe. Now, it only works if your cooking them in a sauce as far as I know, such as this super easy spaghetti sauce recipe. But, I'll be experimenting soon to see if they can be cooked alone, and will update the recipe if it's possible. In the mean time, these tasty meatballs work equally well on top of spaghetti, or on a hoagie bun for meatball subs. My family gave them two thumbs up.
*Meatballs may be cooked in the oven as well. Just place the shaped meatballs on a lightly greased baking sheet, and bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Cooking time depends on the size of the meatballs.
Crock Pot Meatballs
Adapted From: Can You Stay For Dinner
1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 cup milk
32 oz (4 cups) of your favorite homemade or store-bought spaghetti sauce
Combine all meatball ingredients, except sauce in a large bowl using your hands. Do not over mix. Roll the mixture into balls roughly 1 1/2″ in diameter.
Pour a small amount of sauce in the bottom of the crock pot, then place the meatballs into the crock pot. Pour the rest of the sauce evenly over the top, making sure to coat everything.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
Easy Peasy!
