I've found some really good recipes on all recipes, and this beef stew is one of them. What caught my eye right away was that the meat didn't require pre-browning, I just put every thing in the crock pot and turned it on. I'm all about easy recipes, and this one fit right in with what I look for, easy and tasty. The smell while it is cooking is divine. My family kept asking me, "What smells so good?" and "Whens supper going to be done?" This stew is delicious and will be my go to recipe from now on.
Crock Pot Beef Stew
2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 cups beef broth
3 potatoes, diced and pre-cooked
4 carrots, sliced
1 stalk celery, chopped
Place meat in slow cooker. Add the flour, salt, pepper, garlic and paprika. Stir to coat meat. Add worcestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, bay leaf, carrots, and celery.
Cover, and cook on Low setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on High setting for 4 to 6 hours. During the last half hour of cooking, add potatoes.
